Industry Specific Programs

Do your clients, associates or members own small businesses that are all related to the same industry? Do they want to make their businesses more profitable?

Several industry specific programs are available, the most popular of which is the Business of Building. Developed through the University of Florida Collier County Extension Service, The Business of Building is a hands-on training program designed to prepare participants to manage small construction industry related businesses. This program helps participants understand the business tools necessary to take a business to the next level of organization and profitability. The four modules, each designed to be approximately three hours in length, address the four key management functions:
  • Strategic Planning
  • Business Operations
  • Business Development
  • Financial Management and Control
The modules were developed to maximize the involvement of the participant in the learning activity. They can be offered separately, as stand-alone workshops, or as a series.

The Business of Building earns General Contractors in Florida one hour of continuing education credit for each hour of participation.
